Our Story
195 years of excellence in commercial property
From Textile Mills to Commercial Excellence
The Gaunts family can be traced back to the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, 1558 - 1603. The family history is rich in the pioneering and manufacture of worsteds and woollen goods in the area of Calverley, Farsley and Stanningley.
In 1888, the family business was founded in Farsley as Worsted Spinners and Yarn Merchants at Westroyd, now Rodley. Manufacturing was later extended to other locations around West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire. The current Limited Company was incorporated in 1946 in Farsley by Graham Gaunt.
Gaunts company came to its end as a yarn manufacturer in 1996. The tradition of manufacturing was continued by acquisition of other textile mills and conversions into purchasing industrial buildings for use as both storage and rental properties. The period saw the conversion by acquisition of other textile mills, or the purchase of industrial buildings for use as both storage and rental properties.
